King Oscar

Norwegian brisling since 1902. Worth clarifying: brisling are European sprats (Sprattus sprattus), not pilchard sardines, but they’ve been sold and eaten as “sardines” in Scandinavia and Britain for well over a century and the category overlap is real.

Lightly oak-smoked, hand-packed. Non-GMO Project Verified. The single-layer, two-layer, and cross-pack formats all offer slightly different fish sizes and counts. The cross-pack (heads alternated) contains the smallest brisling and the most fish per tin.

The most widely available premium tinned fish in the US. Walmart, Whole Foods, Publix. No hunting required.
