Founded in 1853 in Vila Real de Santo António on the Algarve coast. Ramirez claims to be the world’s oldest continuously operating fish cannery, still family-owned after more than 170 years.
The range is broader than most Portuguese brands: whole sardines in olive oil, sardine fillets in extra virgin olive oil, organic sardines, and sardines au naturel. Production remains in the original Algarve facility.
